Whenever we’re on a first date with someone, we’re preoccupied with wondering just what our date thinks of us. It can be a source of anxiety as we imagine the worst, or we can charm ourselves as we hope for the best, but the truth is always a little more complicated than what we imagine.  

While it is impossible to look inside the heads of our dates, and even if we ask bluntly we are unlikely to get full answers, our Zodiac signs can help us find out just what our dates think of us. Let’s take a look at what first impression people of each sign leave on their date. 

Aries

Aries Sign Dates: March 21 - April 19

Aries like experiencing new things, and they also like to be given challenges. For this reason, they tend to embrace the chance to go on dates and usually do very well on them, often coming off as confident and comfortable as they talk to someone who they have never met before. 

They don’t show the signs of awkwardness that many do on first dates, and their enthusiasm gets to shine through. They definitely leave a good first impression on their dates. 

Taurus

Taurus Sign Dates: April 20 - May 20

Tauruses are sociable and love to be around the people they are close to. That does not mean they struggle with new people, though. They also have the skill to bring people into their inner circle easily, so a good level of comfort can be built up over the course of an evening.  

On a first date, a Taurus won’t take long to make their date feel like they belong together. Their natural abilities with people make them come across as friendly and charming.

Gemini

Gemini Sign Dates: May 21 - June 20

Geminis have a lot going on inside of them, and it can take time to get to understand the layers of their personalities. It is unlikely that after one encounter, someone will feel they truly know the depths of a Gemini.

With that said, they are by no means difficult to get to know, and even on a first date they can leave a strong impression. They come across as being easy to talk to and are a source of interesting, funny conversations, leaving their dates wanting to come back for more.

Cancer

Cancer Sign Dates: June 21 - July 22

Cancers have a habit of stressing too much about how they come across on their first date, but they shouldn’t. What they see as negatives about themselves are actually positive traits that many of their dates will respond well to. 

They know they are shy in these situations, but this can work to their advantage. Despite being on the quiet side on a first date, their dates see them as being great at listening, and as a result, Cancers make their dates feel more relaxed around them. 

Leo

Leo Sign Dates: July 23 - Aug. 22

Leos exude confidence, so on a first date, that trait is immediately apparent. People like confidence, and when someone is on a date with a Leo, they see a fun, energetic person who has a way of capturing people’s attention.

Leos have to watch out though because sometimes they don’t want their egos to be bursting out along with their confidence. This can be a difficult balance to achieve, as the line between healthy confidence and arrogance is thinner than you realize, especially in a first date setting where you want to show off. 

Virgo

Virgo Sign Dates: Aug 23 - Sept. 22

Virgos are very self-reflective and have a way of picking themselves apart. This makes first dates harder on them than others, especially in the aftermath of the date when they beat themselves up while giving the date a post mortem. 

However, if they can keep those tendencies in check, they will make a great first impression, as their smarts and humility will all make their date find them to be an attractive match. If only they realized there is not much to worry about!

Libra

Libra Sign Dates: Sept. 23 - Oct. 22

Libras are great when meeting new people, so they do not struggle at all when they are on first dates. They just jump right in and start talking as if they are old friends, which can ease any nerves their date may have. 

Their innate social skills do not go unnoticed, and their dates see them as magnetic and bursting with charisma. Their lack of awkwardness on first dates means they make a killer first impression, and going out with them is bound to be a good time.

Scorpio

Scorpio Sign Dates: Oct. 23 - Nov. 21

Scorpios don’t always excel on first dates, as it is often difficult to know what it is that they are feeling. While they can be forward if they are very interested, they can also come across as aloof, which can really throw their dates off. 

This can actually be a positive for some people, as their dates will find them intriguing and will want to chase them, though the unclear signs can also be a turn-off for those who prefer things to be clear and direct. 

Sagittarius

Sagittarius Sign Dates: Nov. 22 - Dec. 21

Sagittariuses often shy away from commitment, which may not be great for relationships in the long run, but it works pretty well for first dates as long as they don’t voice their reluctance to commit out loud. 

They’ll come across as lively and a lot of fun and their dates will definitely want to keep meeting them. Unfortunately for them, it is tough to take that spark and turn it into something more serious and long-lasting, though it is definitely possible. 

Capricorn

Capricorn Sign Dates: Dec. 22 - Jan. 19

Capricorns are slow to jump into things, and they do not naturally excel at meeting new people, so first dates can be daunting for them, though once they actually are in the thick of it, they can do pretty well and leave a good impression. 

Because Capricorns like to be competitive, they sometimes will see their date as someone to win over, and then they may overcome their typically reserved demeanor. Either way, their dates will be interested in the sharp intellect that Capricorns tend to possess.

Aquarius

Aquarius Sign Dates: Jan. 20 - Feb. 18

Aquarians are good at keeping to themselves, so they don’t feel the need to constantly be dating. When they decide to give someone a chance and go out with them, they don’t always follow expected norms, and their independence shows, which can go either way in the minds of their dates.  

Regardless, though, their dates will find them interesting. Aquarians come across as unique and individualistic, which many find attractive, though some can be intimidated by their lack of need to be with a partner. 

Pisces

Pisces Sign Dates: Feb. 19 - March 20

Pisces are total suckers for romance, and sometimes this manifests itself as eagerness when they go out on dates, which some people find very endearing. Their romantic side also makes them overthink how they are coming across and make them more cautious. 

They also have a habit of not arriving on time, which is not something that anyone likes. Whatever way it goes, though, it is clear to their dates that Pisces are kind, caring, and sincere, and people respond well to that.
